Ari Kruger is the co-creator and director of the hugely popular web-series SuzelleDIY which has garnered over 22 million views on YouTube and been broadcast nationally on Comedy Central. He is also the co-creator and director of the sensational mockumentary series Tali’s Wedding Diary, which was awarded five South African Film & Television Awards, including Best Director for a Comedy Series.

Both productions epitomise his impeccable comic timing and talent for creating memorable characters.

 

He has attracted notable attention with his short films, having been a finalist at the world’s largest short film festival Tropfest in 2011. His films have screened in festivals across the globe with two of his short films having been selected as Vimeo Staff Picks.

 

His latest short film Waiting for Goldman won Best Dark Comedy at IndieX Film Festival and Independent Short Awards in in Los Angeles.

 

Ari recently directed and executive produced Tali’s Baby Diary for showmax, (the sequel to Baby Diary) which was received with widespread positive reviews and hailed as the best television series of 2021 in South Africa by Media24. He is currently in development on the third season of the series.

 

He is also the show-runner and director for the popular Klipdrift branded talk show Unklipped which recently released its third season on MTV Base and BET Africa. He has directed commercials for popular brands like Netflix, Checkers and Nando's.
