Julia is an award-winning actress, artist and illustrator. She has worked across many fields including theatre, film, book illustration and mural-making but is most well known for her effortless ability to create lovable and versatile characters.

 

She is known and adored by many as the lovable Suzelle from the acclaimed web-series, SuzelleDIY and more recently the self obsessed love-to-hate Tali Babes from Tali’s Wedding Diary.

 

Julia has won numerous awards including Glamour woman of the year, The Superbalist 100 and Best People and Blogs channel at the YouTube awards 2016. Julia was nominated for best comedy actress in a TV show at the 2018 SAFTAs for SuzelleDIY, and for best comedy actress as Tali Babes at the 2019 awards.

 

After graduating from UCT with a BA in Theatre and Performance, Julia worked on various creative projects that spanned across mediums. Her magnificent illustrations have graced the pages of two children's books as well as the MyCiti bus stations in Cape Town.

 

Julia is a partner of Sketchbook Studios and she brings her creative flourish, artistic eye and comedic chops to all the work that passes through the studio.
